TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My life-long love of sports compelled me to pursue a career path in physical education. In the course of my training, I was introduced to the field of Adapted Physical Education, working with students who present a wide variety of physical and emotional disabilities that prevent them from participating in mainstream P.E. classes. The longer I work with these students, the more determined I am to help them in their personal development and to provide them with a successful physical education experience. It is my desire to apply my skills as an educator to the interests and benefit of special needs students.
I believe that a large part of my mission in working with this unique population of students is to help them experience a measure of joy and accomplishment by attaining goals that take into consideration their individual circumstances and needs. In doing so, I will always strive to treat each student with dignity and respect. It is my hope that each student I teach will benefit from my instruction long after they have left my class.
